Get Close to Nature Without the Discomforts

The popularity of camping cabins - including yurts - is growing rapidly. Staying in a yurt or a primitive cabin lets you enjoy some of the best aspects of camping without the discomforts. Instead of a tent, you sleep in a shelter, which can be as basic as a tent or yurt or even have furniture and electricity. Most do not have running water or plumbing, in which case a shared bathhouse or bathroom facilities are available on site. It still feels rustic and close to nature, but you don’t have to worry about weather or bringing (or buying) as much gear, which makes it great for beginning campers.

Always check to see what amenities are (or are not) available for yurts and camping cabins. For example, Sky Ridge Yurts have plumbing, electricity, and bathrooms, whereas not all primitive camping types do.
