Fishing on Chasteen Creek

Chasteen Creek in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is indeed home to smaller Rainbow Trout and Brook Trout. These fish tend to be on the smaller side compared to some of the other creeks and rivers in the area.

Due to the smaller size of Chasteen Creek and the potentially tighter fishing quarters, anglers often find it more suitable to use shorter fishing rods. Shorter rods provide better maneuverability and can help navigate the creeks narrower sections of the creek.

While the fish may be smaller in Chasteen Creek it doesn’t take away anything from the experience of fishing in this location, it is still highly enjoyable. The Creek is conveniently located one mile up Bradley Fork Trail from the Smokemont Campground making it a moderate access for anglers wanting to fish for Brook and Rainbow Trout.
