Bryson City, NC, is home to the historic Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, with its steam locomotive sure to instill a feeling of nostalgia and excite the child at heart with gentle excursions through the Smoky Mountains. The #1702 locomotive dates back to 1942, where the engine’s construction was an official commissioned WWII Steam Engine plan. It is of the world’s largest engine class and is one of two remaining in the United States.
