Rafting
From Scenic Floats to Class I-III Rapids
Here in Bryson City, we’re fortunate to be conveniently located near four rushing rivers that are all perfect for whitewater adventurers of any experience level. Closest to Bryson City, you’ll find the Nantahala River, named “Best Paddling River,” by Blue Ridge Outdoors and the Tuckasegee, which flows for 40 miles through North Carolina, cutting directly through Bryson City’s downtown. Take the plunge and experience the adrenaline rush only rafting can bring!
The U.S. Forest Service requires that children be at least 7 years of age OR weigh at least 60 pounds in order to raft the Nantahala River.
